Are you a follower of international department store fashion campaigns? We constantly keep an eye on the latest trends landing in High Street stores! We LOVE H&M and wish South Africa had a branch or two. We've fallen more deeply in love (and more deeply in depression) over the brands collaboration with french fashion house Lanvin. Creative director Alber Elbaz is a striking genuis- his use of colour, texture and prints create unique, tasteful and eclectic pieces. We at adore have been inspired by his use of colour, prints and oversized ruffles! We stock pieces inspired by this collection: Look for ruffle detailing, bold colour, floral watercolour prints and classic cuts.

Granted we're in the middle of summer...and on our side of the world, that means scorching heat and heavy humidity! *phew* BUT being the avid fashion-followers that we are, we cant help but roll down our sleeves at the first sight of rain or cloud cover!

TREND SPOTTING New York Fashion Week spring/summer 2011

Vera Wang showcased her spring/summer collection at New York Fashion Week and stuck to the rules...she used ruffles and pleating details to create unique silhouettes and deep coloured textiles that creates rich texture. We love the colour palette...she introduced coral floral prints on a black background that exudes drama on the runway.
Make-up was kept neutral with blushing pinks and peaches, and the 60's inspired bouffant hair-do topped the look giving it an elegant touch.

The coral colour tones and floral patterns are echoed in the dress from the adore collection (second image). We absolutely love the softness of the chiffon, keeping you cool in luxurious feeling fabrics this spring/summer. We're totally on top of the trend with this floral mini dress...the pleats create interesting layers and cinches in at the waist with a pleated waistband. Pair with flat gladiators for a casual day wear look or be inspired by Vera Wang's Look Du Jour and try a high-heeled ankle boot in black or tan! Desired look : uptown chic!

I have been procrastinating...most certainly. We live in a time where a 13 year old (yes, tavi...thats you) has become one of the world's foremost fashion blogging experts. How does a puddy 19 year ol compete?!? the soultion... get a part time job in a bookstore and surround yourself with books and magazines. LOTS and lots of books. Smell them, sell them, hold them, trout it...trin it...read it, look at it, buy it, swop it, love it and leave it....there can be no substitute for it. Each page holds a treasure chest of ideas, innovation, inspiration and illustration. Each book and magazine has a unique thread of magic cotton, which stitches your aesthetic dimension sealed (Tavi got nothing on me ;) just kidding! i think you're great)
I want to try my hand out at fashion journalism....I am a self-proclaimed fashion and textile diva. and Ofcourse, being a shoppaholic comes naturally. So I decided that i will type away my days happenings- which are ofcourse crazy busy-and share anything interesting that may come up. So this blog is a mish mash of everything...from advertising 'Adore' (my sister and I are fashion entrepreneurs who own a home-based clothing studio), to anything kool we may come across! we'll keep you posted :) here's to a proper google search entry......
